Graham Media's ABC affiliate KSAT San Antonio, Texas has recently announced the promotion of Mario Orellana to News Director. Orellana has been with KSAT for over 25 years, starting as an unpaid intern in 1996. Throughout the years, he has held various positions within the company, including sports producer, news editor, news producer, senior producer of Good Morning San Antonio, executive producer, and most recently, assistant news director.

"I'm thrilled to be able to announce that Mario is taking over the reins of our News Department with the departure of our previous news director, Bernice Kearney," said GM Ashley Parker. Parker also added, "It is so gratifying to see someone of Mario's stature grow within our company to earn this top spot."

In an interview, Orellana stated, "I’m very excited to continue on my journey at KSAT12 and hope to advance the news department into the new world of local television. I have lots of ideas and will listen to ideas from our entire staff on the way forward and the quickest way to get us there."

This is a well-deserved promotion for Orellana, who has demonstrated his dedication to the company and his passion for the industry over the course of his career.
