KOMO Meteorologist Kristin Clark posted a tweet that said that the Mt. Rainier volcano appeared to be “venting” and that got some people very uneasy.

Some viewers feared the worse and Twitter started heating up. Clark’s post had around 1,500 retweets and around 6,000 “likes.”

It was huge news and it also wasn’t true.

Turns out what Clark thought was venting, turned out to be a cloud.

Maybe next time, instead of tweeting out what APPEARS to be happening, make a few phone calls. You would expect uncle Ed to post something like this, but you would hope that a TV Meteorologist would get some kind of confirmation before posting.

But hey, you post went viral and in the end, isn’t that all that is important?
