Many NBC stations have started airing NBC News Daily, which is national news with a place for local stations to put on their content.

Down here in Orlando, WESH aired NBC News Daily at 1pm replacing Days of our Lives.

Just like morning network news, there were 2 local news cut-ins that WESH could insert content. They at 25 and 55 past the hour.

While it might have been made to look like the local content was live, it clearly was not.

In the weather segment fronted by WESH Met Cam Tran, it was clear that the segment was taped.

When she referenced the “live” radar at 1:25PM, you could see the segment was recorded at 1:03PM. The “live” radar for the 1:55 cutin was taped at 1:07PM.

While they might work in the desert, here in Florida the afternoon storms move in almost daily in the Summer and the weather changes very quickly.

Not exactly Live. Local, or Late Breaking that is?

If WESH is going to continue to record these hits, it might be best to leave the “live” radar out and just show the forecast.
