WLEX (Lexington) has hired a new Weather Anchor to front their weekend morning newscasts.

The station announced that they have hired Bayne Froney.

According to the station, Froney has been working as a weather forecaster and multi-media journalist at KXXV-TV in Waco, Texas. Before that, she served a similar role at KERO-TV in Bakersfield, California.

She is not a Met, but she is currently enrolled in Mississippi State University’s Applied Meteorology Program and is working on a master’s degree in geoscience.

Props to the station for being upfront about that.
