There are a number of problems at NBC and the Today Show is one of those problems.

The one time king of morning TV has lost the luster and a lot of ratings points. Rumors continue to fly that Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie don’t get along and the show is pretty much in freefall.

Guthrie has been missing from the Today Show for over a week and while some think she is just on vacation, others think this is the beginning of the end for Guthrie on Today.

One hot rumor is that Guthrie will be taken off the Today Show, but will make a soft landing and stay at NBC.

There is talk that NBC will replace Chuck Todd on Meet the Press with Guthrie.

Todd is terrible and he has only been getting worse. If NBC puts Guthrie on MTP, it gives the show a female host, which would be a first. It also gives Guthrie a new role at the network and gets her off Today.

Make no mistake, Savannah Guthrie isn’t the reason that the Today Show is floundering, but the network needs a scapegoat and this could it it.

Then again, anything that gets Chuck Todd off the air will be an improvement.
