I Made 200K Before I Quit
It appears that former KCPQ Reporter Brandi Kruse is not a fan of Joe Biden’s college loan forgiveness plan.
Kruse took to Twitter to say that her first job in TV news paid her just 40K and her last job at KCPQ paid 200K.
She points out that she struggled financially but still paid back her loans, adding that hard work in America gets you the middle finger.
I also had student loans and I only made $15,000 in my first TV job and even in my second TV job. I paid my loans and would often have to pawn items just to make ends meet. It wasn’t fun and I worked my ass off.
Do I think that everyone that has student loans should struggle just like I did?
No, I think if we have the means to get college graduates a little relief, that’s a good thing. It gives those and especially those in low-paying TV news jobs a better chance to keep working in this business.
The loan relief plan is for those that are making less than $125,000 a year. You make more, you have to pay more.
I personally think that the $125,000 number might be a bit high and I would have liked to see it closer to $75,000. So, maybe the plan isn’t perfect, but I like the fact that it helps those strapped with student loans.
Just because I struggled along with many others, do we think it is only fair that they struggle as well?
I say no.
By the way, I would also argue that there are Photographers at KCPQ and people in Production that bust their. ass and work hard and are making nowhere close to 200K a year.
Does that seem fair?
