Shuffling Off in Buffalo
The revolving door at Buffalo TV stations continues to spin.
WGRZ Sports Anchor/Reporter Ashley Holder is leaving the Tegna station, and she becomes the sixth TV newsie to leave the Buffalo market this Summer.
Holder says she is leaving to be….say it with me…..closer to family.
“I'm not announcing any TV opportunities I've accepted as of now,” she told the Buffalo News. “Buffalo is always going to (be) a home as my kids were born here. Love it but this is a family decision for me to get help with my children. Loved everything about this place and WGRZ!”
“Opportunities”? How made jobs is she going to work?
When she was hired two years ago, Holder became the first African American woman sports anchor and reporter working regularly on a local network TV affiliate in Western New York.
She was in Buffalo for just two years.
Also, over at the Nexstar station, WIVB Reporter Gabrielle Mediak says this is her last week at the station.
