TV stations love to claim that they were first on a story, but after 18 years, does it really make a difference?

WBBH Meteorologist Jason Dunning posted about a hurricane that hit the Ft. Myers area 18 years ago. Dunning was not at the station at the time, but he still felt the need to say that the WBBH weather team was the first to make the call on the storm’s path.

WINK Met Matt Devitt, who was also not at his station 18 years ago, called bullshit on Dunning’s post.

Dunning then felt the need to respond, because, you know, fighting on the internet always makes you look good.

May guess is that other than these two, no one really gives shit as to who was first almost two decades ago.
