That's Next Year...

As we have made it just past the halfway point of 2022, for some reason WMTV (Madison) Evening Anchor John Stofflet is announcing that he is going to retire from the station.

He’s not leaving in two weeks, he’s not leaving in two months.

No, John Stofflet announced that he is stepping down in June, June of 2023, a year from now.

“It’s difficult to imagine leaving a career that has been so rewarding over the past four decades. I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world on assignment, witness historic events as they’ve unfolded, and meet and share the stories of so many extraordinary people. Serving the people and communities of Southern Wisconsin has truly been a privilege, and I look forward to continuing to do so over the next 12 months,” said Stofflet.

Why?

Why do you feel the need to announce you are going to retire in a year?

I guess with that, it Is time that FTVLive announces that we are also stepping down and going to be moving on from FTVLive.

We haven’t quite pinned down a date just yet, but we are leaning towards March 29, 2030.

Stay tuned….
