Does This Make You Want to Work for Nexstar?
Nexstar produced a recruitment video for KELO, their station in Sioux Falls and it is posted on YouTube.
It is interesting that the station monetized the posted video since it is basically an ad for the station. So, you have to watch an ad before you can watch the ad.
Nexstar CEO Perry Sook leads off the video and talks about how important the people that Nexstar hires are to the company.
The first employee highlighted in the video is KELO digital producer Jazzmine Jackson who started at the station as a production assistant and worked her way up to the digital department.
It was nice to see that Kelo included a person of color in their recruitment video, but then you head to the station’s meet the team page and it appears that Jackson is the only person of color on the station's editorial side.
I think you can do better in the diversity department.
Just saying….
