FTVLive Helps Out

I got this email about a News Director that is at least trying to keep the talent reigned in on social media.

“I work in an East coast top30 market and today our ND used your lead on KOAT yesterday as our teachable moment for what never to do on social media, or else we will "end up reporting overnights" (that job does not currently exist here).

Thought you'd enjoy the reach your spread of stupid in TV has. I guess some managers do care about what our "talented" people post.”

I really wish more News Directors would look at what their employees are posting on social media.

I still think stations should tell talent that they are not to post any dance videos on their station-branded social media.

It does nothing for the station’s ratings and it only hurts their credibility.

Here is KSEE (Fresno) Anchor Carolinie Collins posting a dance video in which she looks like a fool.

Her TikTok doesn’t have KSEE in the bio, but she is using the station’s studio and set as her background. Apparently News Director Lisa Burger has no problem with this.

As you can see by the thumbnail below, Collins using the news set as her personal dance studio and I guess the suits at Nexstar. along with Burger don’t care.
