How the hell does this happen at a network news operation.

NBC’s Today Show host Savannah Guthrie scored an interview with Johnny Depp’s legal team after they won a large verdict for Depp in his case against Amber Heard.

It was that hard of “a get” for Guthrie since her husband consulted Depp’s legal team during the trial.

That right there should have nixed Guthrie from conducting the interview. Her husband, Michael Feldman was the PR goto for team Depp.

NBC should have had someone else conduct the interview. Some that did not have skin in the game.

Guthrie did disclose that her hubby was involved in the case. “A quick disclosure, my husband has done consulting work for the Depp legal team,” Guthrie said before the interview.

That being said, NBC should have still reassigned the interview.

But, it doesn’t end there. Just before the jury came back with a verdict, Guthrie sat down with Amber Heard’s attorney Elaine Bredehoft last week.

Nowhere in that interview did Guthrie disclose that her husband was working for the other side.

While I have expected a cable news outlet to try and pull some shit like this, I would expect better from the broadcast side and NBC’s higher ups should be asking some very strong questions of management at NBC News and Savannah Guthrie.
