We heard that WROC (Rochester) News Director Steve Koles has handed in his notice and is leaving the Nexstar station in a couple of weeks.

No reason was given, but insiders say that he has been under a lot of pressure as the ratings have dropped. Newsroom sources say that Koles has bumped head with the GM on a number of occasions and has decided that leaving is his only option.

People that we have talked to say they don’t want him to leave, but they feel he has no better choice.
