FTVLive hears that former KVUE (Austin) Anchor Mike Rush is going to resurface across the street at KXAN.

Rush left the Tegna station back in Feb of 2021.

When KVUE (Austin) hired Mike Rush as the main Anchor at the Tegna station, then News Director Mike Redding said, “Mike Rush is the perfect fit for KVUE and Central Texas.”

But, after a few years, the station moved Rush from the main gig to mornings. Morning Anchor Bryan Mays moved up to the evening shows and then Rush exited the station.

Now we hear that Rush is headed to Nexstar’s KXAN where I’m sure he would love to beat his old station as much as he can.

When you hire someone that was dissed by another station in the same market, that person usually comes on board with a bit more fire in their belly.
