Well, you have to give Nexstar credit for continuing to try….

Nexstar announced that they are once again expanding newscasts on the little-watched News Nation.

Nexstar claims that News Nation reaches 75 million U.S. television households, but in reality, only about 20 to 30,000 people are tuning in.

News Nation is going to add a 6 AM newscast which they are calling “Early Morning” (the consultants must have worked long and hard to come up with that name?).

The show will be anchored by Mitch Carr and the EP will be James Holm who was a Black News Channel before it went belly up.

Carr came from Tegna’s KPNX in Phoenix.

“We are excited to have Mitch Carr kick-off our mornings with a fast-paced and informative news hour,” said Michael Corn, NewsNation’s president of news. “With James Holm leading the team, I’m confident Early Morning will resonate with viewers, as NewsNation continues its expansion to become a 24/7 cable news network.”

Carr will join Adrienne Bankert at 7 AM for Morning in America on News Nation.
