Coming in for a Landing
He is one of the few left in the country and at the end of the week, he will be landing his chopper for the last time.
KTLA Chopper Pilot/Reporter Mark Kono took to social media to announce that he is stepping down from the Nexstar after nearly 20 years.
This is what he posted.
I wanted you to hear it from me first, I'll be winding things down here at #Sky5HD this week, I appreciate every one of you and thank you for all of your kindness and support over the years. It's been a GREAT run, going on nearly 20 years. Ginger, myself and our family want to thank you for everything, it's been an honor and a pleasure to serve you and bring you my absolute best every single day.
Pilot / Reporters are a rare breed these day's and have been, especially since July of 2007. The perspective is unique and there's only a small handful of pilots left who do it. Thank you for your patience and appreciation of that.
The KTLA Morning News is deep in the DNA of Los Angeles and all of our surrounding cities and communities, that will never change, NO other station even comes close, or ever will.
I'm honored and humbled to have been a part of it for so many years.
Thank you again, enjoy your Memorial Day weekend and a very special thank you to those who served and gave their lives in service of our great country!
