CBS Names New ND in San Francisco
Back in January, FTVLive FIRST told you that CBS O&O KPIX had parted ways with News Director Mark Neerman.
Five months later, they finally got around to filling the job.
And, it appears that the next News Director was sitting right in the station’s newsroom.
KPIX has bumped Assistant News Director Lisa White up to the News Director. White has been with the station for over 2 decades.
Here’s the deal, this woman has worked at the station for 22 years, and it took you 5 months to decide that she should be promoted?
The truth of the matter is that CBS left the job open for months on end, knowing that White would handle the duties all while saving the big money on a News Director’s salary.
Stations often do this as a way to save money.
While it is nice to see the Duece finally get bumped to the big chair, in the past 5 months, she was acting as the News Director while doing her job as Assitant News Director.
I think CBS and KPIX should make her raise retroactive back to when she started her gig as acting ND.
Do you think that will happen?
I won’;t be surprised if they take another few months to now fill the open Assistant ND job.
Just saying…
