Shuffling Off from Buffalo
Word is that Scripps's struggling WKBW in Buffalo is about to lose two more on-air staffers.
Both Melanie Camp and Meteorologist Michelle McLeod are said to be headed to the exit.
Camp host WKBW pay for play show “AM Buffalo) and is said to be heading for Houston to work on a morning show in that market.
McLeod is the bigger loss for the station because when she goes, it will leave the Scripps station with only two Mets on staff.
Meteorologist Andy Parker bolted from the station back in February, and for some reason, the station has still not replaced him.
The Buffalo News reports McLeod has told co-workers that she will be leaving the station sometime next month after more than three years at WKBW.
WKBW was the one-time powerhouse in the Buffalo market, and at one point in time, it was the highest-rated local station in the country.
When Granite Broadcasting took over the station and was led by then-GM Bill Ransom, the station went from first to worst and has never recovered.
Scripps has taken over WKBW, but they have not been able to undo the damage that Granite and Ransom did to the station.
