Wasn't That Against Station Policy?
Former KSAZ (Phoenix) Anchor Kari Lake proclaims that she is the "only conservative" in the race for Arizona governor.
Lake has pushed her conspiracy theories on voters for months all while showing her love of Donald Trump.
But the Free Beacon is out with a story that claims Lake volunteered to knock on doors for the Obama campaign while she worked as a news anchor, according to a former colleague.
So apparently, the “only conservative” used to not be a conservative.
The Free Beacon story says
“Lake's longtime Fox 10 Phoenix colleague told former Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu (R.) that Lake "went door to door canvassing for Barack Obama" during her time at the network, Babeu told the Washington Free Beacon. The former colleague, who requested anonymity to speak freely, confirmed that the conversation with Babeu took place and said the allegation about Lake's work for Obama emerged in the Fox 10 newsroom after Lake announced her candidacy for governor. Her Republican campaign has shocked coworkers given her political activity while at the network.”
Now, the fact that Lake flipped-flopped isn’t really shocking. Donald Trump paid attention to her, so now she is a big Trump supporter.
But, forget her lies and conspiracy theories, I think the bigger question here is why KSAZ allowed their Anchor at the time to take a political stance publically at all?
Was the station okay with their Anchor knocking on doors for a Presidential candidate?
Aren’t there station policies against something like that?
Before Lake quit KSAZ she posted all kinds crap praising Trump and even said that his statement of “grabbing women by the pussy” didn’t really bother her.
It makes no difference if Lake was knocking on doors for Obama at one point and then flip-flopping to her love of Donald Trump. What is wrong is that the station let her do both publically.
Clearly, when it comes to Journalism, KSAZ doesn’t really care.
