The New Media King
Warner/Discovery CEO David Zaslav is now one of the most powerful people in media thanks to his company buying up Warner Media from AT&T.
Yesterday, Zaslav held an employee town hall now that the deal has gone through.
To show you the power that this guy now wields, the employee town hall was hosted by Oprah Winfrey.
What is interesting is he tipped his hand as to the future of the struggling CNN+.
Zaslav that his goal is to combine many types of programming into a single streaming platform.
That means you will get content from HBO and the Food Network on a single platform.
And, although he didn’t say it just yet, it appears that he will also bundle CNN+ in part of that streaming package.
CNN+ has struggled since launching and many believed that the only way the service was going to make it was for a complete overhaul, or for it to be added to a successful streaming service like HBO.
It appears that is where CNN+ is headed as Zaslav will roll many of the company networks into one giant streaming channel.
Stay tuned…
