Fox Weather Swings and Misses
When nasty weather is rolling into your area, it is best if you turn on the local news and not places like The Weather Channel or Fox Weather.
Here’s an example of why that is.
As a tornado warning was issued for the Memphis area, Fox Weather started reporting on the path of the storm.
But, the information from Fox Weather could have been very confusing, unless you hopped a ride with Doc in his Delorean time machine.
You can see on the graphic that Fox Weather said the storm should pass over “Dixie Homes” at 3:56 PM.
Is that 3:56 PM in 2006? Because Dixie Homes was demolished over a decade ago. It was replaced by an area now know as Legends Park.
That wasn’t the only mistake on the Fox Weather graphic.
Fox Weather said the storm was going to hit Lauderdale Courts at 3:55, but Lauderdale Courts closed in 22 years ago.
Fox Weather reported that Foote Homes was also set to be hit by the storm at 3:55, yet it was demolished back in 2017.
Maybe Fox should spend a little less money on their hyped-up “Weather Beasts” and a bit more on updating their maps.
Also, if nasty weather is headed your way, turn on the local news, they know the area a bit better than the cable news people that are hundreds of miles away from the impacted area.
