Deleting the Tweet

For many, including players in the NFL, the news that former Ohio State star Quarterback and current Pittsburgh Steeler Dwayne Haskins‘ was killed in Miami came from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

But, it was the way Schefter framed the tweet that had many players pissed.

Haskins was killed when he was hit by a car.

Schefter tweeted out:

Schefter basically tweeted out that Haskins‘ NFL career was a bust, despite the fact that Haskins was just 24-years-old and working hard in the off-season with Pittsburgh. The man was just killed and Schefter puts the focus on his shortcomings in the NFL.

After he posted the tweet, a number of NFL players weighed in on what they thought was a very insensitive post.

After being called out, Schefter deleted the tweet and posted a new one, he did not mention his first post:

Not everyone was impressed:

ESPN has not commented on the matter.
