Anchor Shuffle in Phoenix
It appears that The Firm is shuffling the Anchors around at KSAZ.
After 20+ years on the station’s morning newscast, Cory McCloskey moves to the evening news starting today.
“I’ll still be out of the studio doing live shots each day, running around and spreading mayhem across the Valley, but now it'll happen during the 4P and 5P newscasts!” McCloskey said in a Facebook post in which he announced the change.
“So, I’m not leaving FOX10 — just shifting my schedule and gaining about three hours of sleep every day!” he said.
McCloskey didn’t give a reason for the switch in his post; neither McCloskey nor the station replied to a request for more information.
Ty Brennan, who co-anchors the Saturday “Arizona Morning” show, will replace McCloskey. The station will look for a replacement for Brennan, according to a note to the staff from KSAZ News Director Doug Bannard,
In other changes, weather anchor Kristy Siefkin has left the station after 10 years. March 1 was her last day on the air. And Marissa Sarbak has joined the station as a reporter. She previously worked in New York, Little Rock and Gainesville, Florida.
