One Day After Launch, CNN+ Already Looking at Layoffs?
Okay, this seems really quick, but according to Fox Business host Charles Gasparino (take it for what it’s worth) CNN is already looking into instituting layoffs at CNN+, which just launched 2 days ago.
On one hand, it is hard to believe that CNN, or any company for that matter, would be looking to make cuts one day after launching a new product.
Then again, this is CNN that we are talking about, so nothing surprises us.
Of course, the fact that CNN piled so much money into CNN+ was head-shaking from the very start.
CNN is the last placed cable news station behind Fox News and MSNBC.
In other words, not many are watching their free cable station, so what made them think that people would want to pay money for their streaming service?
Anyway, if the cuts really do start happening this quickly, it is just another example of how clueless CNN really is.
But this Gasparino post gets so much better.
After he made the post, CNN PR head Matt Dornic responded to Gasparino and then the CNN+ Twitter account responded to Dornic, who is an executive at CNN.
This truly is the network that can’t shoot straight.
