FTVLive Readers Don't Care About CNN+

For the past two days, I have tried to play the launch of CNN+ up at the top or near the top of FTVLive.

99% of the time, whichever story I place at the top of FTVLive, it is the most-read story of the day.

But, for the past two days, the CNN+ stories have been nowhere near the top.

On Tuesday, the day CNN+ launched, the story about it was the 5th most-read story on FTVLive. Yesterday, I posted another story about CNN+ and it was the 4th most-read story on FTVLive.

This story, buried at the bottom of FTVLive about Katie Couric appearing in a commercial got nearly 50,000 more page viewers than the story about CNN+ which was posted much higher on FTVLive.

While CNN has spent millions hyping its streaming service, it appears that many who work in TV newsrooms don’t really care.

While I am a strong believer that streaming is the future, I don’t think CNN understands that just putting the people on their low-rated network on its streaming platform is going to work. CNN had the opportunity to really do something different, but they chose not to.

Their slogan is “Go There” but it appears that not very many people made the trip.
