Back in February, FTVLive told you that WRC Anchor Leon Harris was arrested for driving drunk and was pulled from the air.

Harris’ arrest came after viewers noticed him slurring his words while anchoring the newscast. His arrest came shortly after that.

After his arrest, the NBC station said, “Harris will not appear on-air as the investigation continues.”

Buried in a Friday night news dump, Harris returned to the air saying that he was sorry and that he knows her let a lot of people down. He made sure to point out a number of times that he went and sought help on his own after his arrest.

Before the station aired Harris announcement, WRC News Director Mike Goldrick sent the script out to the staff in an internal memo and said that Harris would be returning to the anchor desk starting today.
