Tegna’s WGRZ (Buffalo) has named a new but at the same time old News Director.

Jeff Woodard spent over 7 years as the station’s ND, before leaving in 2016. Before the ND job, Woodard spent over 6 years as the EP at the station.

He left for a marketing job outside of TV news, and although the pay was likely better and the hours surely were, he is now coming back into the TV news game.

In 3 weeks, Woodard will be WGRZ’s new/old News Director.

It’s nice to see someone returning to TV news at a time when so many are leaving the business.
