KCRG (Cedar Rapids) Anchor Chris Earl has decided to leave the Winters of Eastern Iowa and head to Florida.

KCRG posted the news to social media, saying that Earl “has decided to leave Eastern Iowa for the warm weather of Florida for a new career opportunity. We’re sad to see him go but wish him luck!”

Earl was part of the morning news team before being bumped up to the evenings to succeed longtime Anchor Bruce Aune.

That happened a year ago and now he has left the station.

No replacement has been named.
