Viewers of your newscasts are the customers of your station, in essence, they are no different than a customer that walks into a restaurant.

They have a right to criticize the food or the restaurant in general.

In other words, if a viewer doesn’t like an anchor or reporter, they have every right to voice their opinion.

But, while the viewer has the right to do that, personal attacks should be out of bounds and is unacceptable.

You don’t like the meal at a restaurant, you can tell the manager why you didn’t like the food and then decide not to eat at that place again.

You don’t like how a TV station presents the news, fell free to turn the channel and not watch.

But, you’re a complete idiot when you email the Anchor and tell her that she “looks like a whore” and you don’t like the way she does her makeup.

Some viewer thought it was okay to email WOOD (Grand Rapids) Anchor Whitney Burney and tell her just that.

It’s not okay and it really shows a lack of class. How would this viewer appreciate someone emailing his wife or daughter and telling them they look like a whore?

And, if you’re not even positive you’re emailing the correct person, maybe just shut the fuck up.

Burney posted the email to her social media and and a picture of how she appeared anchoring the news. She appeared completely professional in her appearance and was a bit surprised that the viewer left his contact information in the email.

While most trolls hide behind the keyboard, some are out in the open, but it doesn’t make them any less of a troll.

My advice to Dr. Gilbert is if he doesn’t like the Anchor or the newscast in general, turn the channel, or turn off the TV.

Problem solved.

Attacking a women with some nasty comment is wrong and it shows just how weak you really are.

As for Burneey, props for rolling with this crap and understanding that when you’re in the public eye, you will deal with your share of trolls.
