More Time Off For Nexstar Employees

It appears that Uncle Perry is giving the Nexstar employees another day off starting next year.

Nexstar CEO Perry Sook sent out an internal email to tell the rank and file that the company will finally observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a paid company holiday.

But, it doesn’t end there, “Adding another personal day will give you the option of taking a day to observe Juneteenth, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Veterans Day, a religious holiday, or a day of your own choosing,” Sook said in the email obtained by FTVLive.

He goes onto say, “With these additions, Nexstar will move from eight paid holidays and personal days annually to a total of ten, more than anyone else in our peer group.”

First off, Nexstar is the largest station owner in the country, so, what peer group.

While the extra time off is all good, Nexstar staffers tell FTVLive they want to know when they will get raises that at least keep up with inflation?

I don’t think any of them should hold their breath.
