Gray CEO Hilton Howell sent out a memo to the staff, thanking them for a great 2022.

Gray stations raked in millions of dollars in political ad money in 2022 and then got a gift from the election gods. The runoff election for U.S. Senate in Georgia, meant that the Gray station in Georgia would get another month of political ad dollars.

Howell spoke about the great year for Gray, but what he didn’t mention were year-end bonuses and that did not site well with many Gray folks.

“A year of working double and triple duty. Working long hours with very little thanks. Major moves and changes forcing some of the best staffers in the business to leave. This is why no one is staying in the business,” said one staffer to FTVLive.

With all the money Gray made in 2022, it seems like bonuses should have happened.
