Hanging It Up in Maine
WCSH Anchor Pat Callaghan is hanging it up after 43 years.
He started at the Portland, Maine station in 1979 and now he is saying goodbye.
“So, what will I be doing after I walk out of the doors at One Congress Square?” Callaghan said. “For a while, I'll learn to live without the adrenaline rush that fuels most journalists and see what it's like to not feel like I'm behind schedule all of the time. Lots more time for traveling too, and learning some new things.
Some people take sabbaticals for that, but it doesn't really work in this job.
And I will certainly stay home when the police and the people on TV tell us to keep off the roads during a snowstorm. I've always wondered what that was like.”
