In my 28 years as a news anchor, I've never featured a family member in a news story. In fact, I try to avoid such scenarios. However, I had a chance to shine a spotlight on Angel Flight, a volunteer organization who has literally helped save the life of my niece. While my sister and family live in Arizona, they had to get treatment in Colorado, where I live.
