Ft. Myers Station is Back on the Air
As hurricane Ian was making landfall, it didn’t take the storm long to flood the WINK newsroom and knock the station off the air.
Yesterday, WINK was able to return to the air, three days after Ian rolled through.
The station is doing its newscasts from a shed in Charlotte county. They have found their way back on the air, but how many people are watching is another question.
Millions in the area are still without power and it could take months before power is fully restored.
Here in Orlando, the power started coming back on in many areas, but there are still a number of people hoping to get their power back on soon. Flood waters are starting to recede, but there are still roads that are impassable and widespread damage.
When a hurricane passes through an idea it is a violent storm. But, after the storm makes its way past, it takes the humidity with it and leaves beautiful clear skies. This is a picture I snapped last night as the sun was going down.
