A Macon County, Illinois Sheriffs deputy, Travis Wolfe, was one of four officers involved in a deadly shootout last week in Decatur, Illinois.

Wolfe is the son of WAND Reporter Doug Wolfe and Decatur mayor, Julie Moore-Wolfe, who also used to be an Anchor at WAND.

Wolfe does not appear to have reported on the shooting although he did make a post to his station-branded social media about the suspect being identified.

While it is good that WAND appeared to keep Doug Wolfe off the story, as they should, the station did not identify that Deputy Wolfe is related to their Reporter or the Mayor.

This seems like a no-brainer to add this disclaimer to the end of each story you are reporting on the shooting.
