They Don't Work There
On Friday, FTVLive showed a YouTube video from WBTW (Myrtle Beach) Sports Anchor/Reporter Candace Martino.
The video had been up a few days and only had around 200 views. But, after we posted to FTVLive, the video has over a thousand views. Other videos of hers on her channel have less than 10 views and another one had 20.
Word is that Martino is more interested in being an influencer than she is in being a Journalist.
What is interesting, the video that we posted showed Martino interact with a number of people that appear to be station employees.
Two sources tell FTVLive that those people seen in the video do not work for the Nexstar station. One sources tells FTVLive that the people in the video are part of a production team that Martino used to shoot the video.
Wait! So a sports reporter in Myrtle Beach is using a production team to make YouTube videos? WTF?!
The question is, did Martino get permission from management to bring these people into the station?
“Letting unauthorized people in the building is a serious safety risk and should also be grounds for firing,” said one station insider.
We don’t know if these people were authorized or not. But, maybe if Martino spent as much time on her stories for the station as she does for her social media, she might get out of Myrtle Beach.
