It appears that Gray’s WPTA (Ft. Wayne) is adding a new newscast.

According to an internal memo sent to the staff, a small group in the newsroom have been working quietly since September on the new newscast which will hit the air next month.

Insiders say that many newsroom employees were a bit surprised by the memo.

“Staffing is at a desperate level and the solution seems to be expanding to a new show,” said one insider to FTVLive.

Many stations are expanding news and while we think that is a good thing, most are not adding more people.

In other words, doing more with less.

It seems to be the way 2022 TV news will be put on the air.
