Headed to the Big Show

WJZ Anchor Max McGee is a good example as to why you don’t give up on your dreams.

McGee is leaving the CBS O&O in B-More and he is headed to ESPN to be an Anchor on Sports Center. For anyone working in TV sports, this is the holy grail.

He posted the news of his move, but he shared the credit to all those that helped make it happen.

McGee even went so far to email FTVLive and thank us for the job we do.

“I also wanted to thank you for the “All About Me” articles. It shows me what not to do and how to get over myself. I’ve even taken my name out of intro scripts while anchoring. That’s what supers are for anyway,” McGee said in a portion of his email to FTVLive.

With all that we see happening in this industry and all the look at me posts and dance videos, Max McGee stills shows us that there are some people in this business that still get it.

He gives us hope that TV news can survive with the right people.

Good luck to him at ESPN!
