Jim Acosta Rips Off Will McAvoy
We have said it time and time again, there is no bigger fan of CNN’s Jim Acosta, than Jim Acosta.
I don’t know if Acosta’s ego has filed for statehood yet, but clearly, he is not above lifting material of fictional TV newsman.
If you were a fan of HBO’s The Newsroom, then you likely remember the story like in which Will McAvoy played by Jeff Daniels, referred to the Republican Tea Party as “The American Taliban.”
In ranting on the fictional news show, McAvoy said in part, "They can call themselves the Tea Party. They can call themselves conservatives and they can even call themselves Republicans, though Republicans certainly shouldn't. But we should call them what they are. The American Taliban."
On his CNN show Saturday, Acosta channel is inner Will McAvoy when he called Marjorie Taylor Greene, Madison Cawthorn, and Tucker Carlson “the American Taliban” and “a combination of theocracy and thugocracy” because they “resort to intimidation and violence” to push their extremist agenda.
While you can agree or disagree with those comments, there is little doubt that Acosta was fed this idea after watching the HBO show.
I guess it makes some sense in the fact that Jim Acosta is about as much of a real Journalist is as Will McAvoy.
Then again, he always seemed more like a Ron Burgandy to me.
