Ya Girl Has 5!
FTVLive has posted more than a few times about how the EMMY’s have become about as close to a participation trophy as you can get.
You look at the list of winners in just one region and it is hundreds of people. So, getting nominated to win an award that is given out to thousands of people across the country doesn’t seem like much of an accomplishment, in our opinion of course.
That being sad, WFAA (Dallas) Traffic Anchor Tashara Parker is giddy about being nominated for 5 Emmys.
As she says in her social media post, if you see her acting like a “fool” it’s okay, because she worked hard for this.
She obviously told the flight attendants on her trip that she was also nominated for 5 of the trophies and they in turn made an announcement to the passengers, who all cheered.
It is here that we should point out that it cost about $150 for each entry into the Emmys and if Parker didn’t enter at all, that would have been enough money to fly first-class and pay for your hotel when you got there.
But, that would never make up for the entire plane cheering for you, now would it?
Can you imagine a Doctor getting on a flight and bragging to the flight attendant that they saved two babies that were born weeks prematurely and hoping that the flight attendants would announce it?
Or, maybe a firefighter that ran into a burning house to save a family pet from dying?
The egos in this business never cease to amaze me.
