Headed to a Top 10
For many people getting into TV news, the goal is to continue to try and keep moving up in market size.
You are told that you need to make it to a top market or network to feel like you have really made it this business.
I know this, because I felt the same way.
I left jobs that I loved just because I got an offer in a market that was bigger than the market I was currently working in.
Here’s the thing, once I got to that bigger market, I often found myself looking back and saying, “This is it?”
My advice to anyone in this business, if you are in a market that you love and you are making enough money to support your lifestyle, then stay put.
You will find out that the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.
That being said, WTLV (Jacksonville) Reporter Dawn White says that she is fulfilling her dream of working in a top 10 market and is moving to Atlanta.
She is leaving the Tegna station in Jax and headed to the Tegna station in Atlanta.
She posted the news, along with a bunch of selfies to her social media and says it has been her dream for decades.
Hopefully, it lives up to the hype.
