The Deuce is Done in Des Moines
Sources tell FTVLive that KCCI Assistant News Director Dana Cardin announced that he is retiring at the end of the year.
Cardin has been with the station for decades and was even an on-air reporter at one time. He's a hard working guy and KCCI has a pretty good track record of journalistic excellence and leadership thanks to his help.
KCCI is one of the most dominant stations in the Hearst portfolio.
One station insider tells FTVLive, “The announcement was widely anticipated by staff at the station. He joins a long list of people who've been there for decades who are headed for the exit ever the current news director joined at the end of 2018. It hasn't been going well.”
But hey, they are still doing way better than their across-the-street rival WHO, who's getting sued by a former anchor.
