Nexstar Failed to Pay Taxes and Now The Staff is asked to Pony Up

It seems that Nexstar’s WEHT (Evansville, Indiana) screwed up the staff’s pay for the entire year of 2020.

The company forgot to deduct the city taxes from the employee’s paychecks for all of last year.

It seems that nearly 8 months into this year, the company figured it out and sent this internal email, obtained by FTVLive to the staff at WEHT.

One employee was told that they will have $90 a month deducted from their paycheck to help Nexstar pay back the money for their screw-up. Another staff is getting dinged for over $100 bucks a month.

While $90 or $100 bucks might not seem like much, I can assure you in you are working in a market the size of Evansville, it’s a big deal.

Nexstar says that they paid the city back and now the staff has to pay back Nexstar.

I would think that if the company screwed this up, maybe the company should be on the hook for the cash.

Suddenly telling the staff that their paychecks are going to be smaller is really lame.

Nexstar screwed this up and Nexstar should pay for it.

I can assure you, they can afford it.

Do the right thing Uncle Perry, do the right thing.
