Well Now, Take a Look at That?

Yesterday, in a Patron Only story, FTVLive told you that Tegna’s KUSA posted a job for a News Producer, but did not post how much the job pays?

The problem? Colorado law states that job postings must include the salary the company will pay for the job.

The law reads:

"An employer shall disclose in each posting for each job opening the hourly or salary compensation, or a range of the hourly or salary compensation, and a general description of all of the benefits and other compensation to be offered to the hired applicant."

KUSA appeared to be violating the law and FTVLive pointed that out.

Well, not long after the story was posted by FTVLive, guess what?

Tegna updated the job posting. Below is a screenshot, the first one is before the FTVLive story and the second is after the FTVLive story.

Notice how the second one now includes the salary:

It’s nice that Tegna is no longer violating the law in Colorado.

It’s a bit sad to see the job pays about as much as a manager at McDonald’s, but that’s a whole other story.

You might be wondering if management at Tegna thanked FTVLive for pointing this out and making sure that they complied with the state law?
