CNN Has a Real Ethical Problem on its Hands
While CNN’s media critic Brian Stelter loves to call out Fox News for crossing the ethical line, he remains silent on the fact that CNN has long blown past the line of ethics.
First, you have Chris Cuomo, who brought his brother NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo on his show numerous times to help give him positive publicity. It basically amounted to nothing more than free political ad time.
Then, Chris Cuomo admitted to being an advisor to his brother when the Andrew Cuomo house of cards started to crumble. CNN continued to leave Chris Cuomo on the air and while every other news outlet was reporting the accusations against Andrew, CNN’s 9 PM hour hosted by Chris, ignored the topic.
But, that’s not the only CNN employee with ties to Andrew Cuomo.
CNN’s top executive, Allison Gollust was Cuomo’s communications director before becoming an executive vice president at CNN.
“CNN has a real ethical problem on its hands,” former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer told Fox News on Wednesday,
Fleischer was adamant that Chris Cuomo had escaped punishment for his role in advising his brother over his mushrooming scandal because of the influence of Gollust.
“She now runs the show, she’s the number two to Jeff Zucker at CNN,” Fleischer added.
You can bet if this scenario was playing out at Fox News, Brian Stelter would be all over it like white on rice. But, since it is happening inside CNN, mums the word.
At this point, CNN needs a shakeup from the top down, they have lost all credibility. So sad to see a news organization crumble as CNN has.
