It's Changed Without a Thank You
Yesterday, FTVLive told you how WTXF the Fox O&O in Philly posted a tweet and a story about what they said was an “attempted shooting”.
The Fox Philly story said, “surveillance footage shows an unknown Black male firing a handgun multiple times at the 30-year-old male victim.”
FTVLive pointed out two things we saw wrong with the story.
First, the guy fired the gun, so it was not an “attempted shooting,” it was a SHOOTING.
Second, FTVLive wrote:
“Why does the station feel the need to describe the suspect as an “unknown Black male”?
We can see the suspect is Black in the video and since you are offering up no other description other than “Black” why is this necessary?”
Well, not long after FTVLive posted the story yesterday, the Fox O&O changed the “attempted shooting,” to a shooting and took out the race of the suspect.
They did not thank FTVLive for the heads up. But, don’t worry, we’re still working for you.
Here is a portion of the original story the station posted:
And here is a portion of the story that has now been changed.
