Attempted?

This was a post from WTXF the Fox O&O in Philly:

According to the story on the station’s website, “surveillance footage shows an unknown Black male firing a handgun multiple times at the 30-year-old male victim.”

So, how was this an attempted shooting if the suspect fired the gun “multiple times”?

It seems this was A SHOOTING and not an “attempted shooting.”

An attempted shooting would be if the suspected pointed the gun, pulled the trigger and the gun did not fire. That’s an “attempted shooting.”

It seems that Fox Philly might have wanted to label this and “attempted murder” as the shooting did happen.

The story posted by the station also calls it an “attempted shooting.”

Lastly, why does the station feel the need to describe the suspect as an “unknown Black male”?

We can see the suspect is Black in the video and since you are offering up no other description other than “Black” why is this necessary?

I think we should expect a bit more from market no. 4.
