Speaking of KWTV in Oklahoma City….

Back last Summer, FTVLive called out the station for its lack of diversity in their on-air talent. We brought the issue up again in March of this year.

This week, we got this email from an FTVLive reader:

Wanted to thank you calling attention to

You called out the whiteout at KFOR a few months ago and they’ve since hired two African American on air talent (you wrote a follow up a few weeks ago) but it looks like KWTV has also hired some African American talent and although their talent bios is a cross between their sister Station in Tulsa (KOTV) and KWTV in okc it looks like all the AA talent listed is for KWTV. I firmly believe you calling out KWTV for their obvious omission of AA talent (and white out) was a contributing factor. Many thanks my man.

In looking at the KWTV team page, it does appear that the station has added diversity to on-air talent. While we would argue that there is more work to do for KWTV, we are happy to see them take a step in the right direction.
