Big Story or Big Hype?
Denver’s KMGH broke the news that a maid might have stopped another “Las Vegas Style” mass shooting at this year’s All-Star baseball game.
KMGH reported that a housekeeper discovered more than a dozen weapons and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition inside one of the rooms Friday night.
Police arrested 4 suspects and the KMGH story went viral across the internet.
But, on Sunday, the FBI downplayed the story, saying, "We have no reason to believe this incident was connected to terrorism or a threat directed at the All-Star Game," FBI Denver tweeted. "We are not aware of any threat to the All-Star Game events, venues, players, or the community at this time."
So, did KMGH overhype the story, or is the FBI downplaying it to not cause concern?
The other stations in town are appearing to downplay the story, but maybe that is due to the fact that they got beat badly by KMGH?
Was it a big story, or just big hype?
We’ll let you decide.
