Yesterday, FTVLive showed you a picture that Tegna posted of some of the interns they have hired this Summer.

In our story we said:

“While it is nice to see that 5 of the 7 people in the picture are people of color and they hid the two white guys behind sunglasses, these are interns.

Tegna needs to be putting people of color on the air and even more importantly in the corner offices.

Congrats to these kids that are just starting out their TV careers, but let’s hope that Tegna can make more diverse hires, other than the interns.”

Well, one DC insider emailed FTVLive and said that the picture of this year’s crop of interns is an old picture. “The intern picture is at least four years old,” said an insider to FTVLive.

Is Tegna so lazy that can’t take pictures of the new interns? Did they hire a bunch of white people and thought this was better optics?
